ONALASKA, Wis. -

Onalaska co-op forward Teresa Knutson doesn't miss very much. The Junior leads the state in total points and goals. In fact, she's scored 51 times in only 19 games. That's 18 more than anyone else in the state.

"I've been working a lot on my game over the summer and now just shooting extra pucks every night to try and get my shot better," Knutson said. "Every night I put in the extra effort because I know our team needs to get there."

"It's her passion for hockey and her consistancy," said Head Coach Eric Bugenhagen. "She shows up early, she was the first on the ice today and she's the last one to leave. She works on her shooting, she's coachable and she always wants to get better"

Leading the state in scoring is nothing new for Knutson.  The past two season,s she's won the state scoring title and is well on her way to a third.

"Its actually quite nerve racking at times. People are always out there trying to get you and sometimes they are being a little cheap," Knutson said.

"We've tried to add to her arsenal as far as different types of shots, we're developing her slapshot and we're always trying to make her and the rest of the girls better," said Bugenhagen.

And Knutson wouldn't have it any other way.

"Since the first time I've stepped on the ice I've loved it ever since, it always brings a smile to my face.

"I just want to play college hockey somewhere, thats the dream"
