La Crosse Aquinas is now just one win away from earning an appearance in the WIAA State Boys Soccer Tournament. The Blugolds beat Pacelli 2-1  in overtime in the WIAA Sectional Semifinal round.

Pacelli opened up the scoring in the second half with a Joe Fuller goal.

Aquinas trailed 1-0 with five minutes remaining in regulation when Hank Lichter found Chris Paulino for the equalizer which forced overtime.

Then with time running out in the first overtime period, a Shane Hannah to Connor Rademacher ball found the back of the net with just one-second remaining on the scoreboard.

Aquinas will face McDonell/Regis this Saturday at noon in Stevens Point with a trip to the state tournament on the line.
