The Winona State softball team caputred the program's
fifth N-S-I-C tournament championship.
In doing so...the Warriors have the top-seed in the
Central Region and will host the NCAA Regional this
weekend beginning Friday at .
But things didn't look so positive last Thursday.

included four-straight on Saturday to capture the

It was jus something we weren't expecting.
We swepty Mary in our one series this year so it was
very unexpected but is says that we're never going
to give up.
A lot of grit.
A lot of resilience.
They've shown that all year long and we've preached
mental toughness in this program, we preach passion
and pride every day.
It's fun to actually see it play out in front of you.
What it says is that we can get knocked back, knocked
down and answer right back.
We became angry, hungry and we came right back and
attacked the ball and just worked our way back one
game at a time.
No mountain may be too high for this team.
A big reason why is their balance.
They led the N-S-I-C in offensive categories like
average and runs per game....while also first in conference
in pitching categories like E-R-A.
Pitching, defense, and offense.
You want to be good in all three aspects.
And the you've got to be lucky and you've got to be
And this team has been all of the above all year long.
We've had a lot of good teams over the years, we've
been a great program.
But this is the most balanced team we've ever had.
