Sometimes in sports it takes just one game to turn
a player into an emerging star.
Bronson Koenig did just that in last night's final
going from being known here in La Crosse.
to being known nationwide.
News 8's Gregg Wavrunek has more from Arlington.
La Crosse Aquinas graduate Bronson Koenig puts together
his strongest half of basketball in his bright and
young career in Wisconsin's Final Four game against
Koenig I just felt comfortable in the game.
Like I said before the game has kind of slowed down
for me right now and I just try to go in and be aggressive.
It was freshman on freshman so I was pretty comfortable
and I knew I could play my game.
NATS Koenig, three.
Talk about a coming out party.
Wisconsin would lead most of the first half with Koenig
scoring four baskets.
However the spark he gave the team off the bench wouldn't
be enough as Wisconsin falls two wins shy of their
first National Championship since 1941.
Koenig It was a great experience for us as a freshmen
class and everybody on the whole team.
I know we're really going to be hungry in the offseason
after this loss.
And our goal is to always win a National Championship
and that won't change.
Koenig finishes the game 4-10 from the field, 11 points,
and 1 assist.
