RUSHFORD, Minn. (WKBT) -

Noah Carlson is ready for one final ride with Rushford-Peterson on the football field.

The state champion athlete in both track and field and basketball is hoping to make plenty of headlines this fall.

Carlson has been busting long runs for years now for the Trojans. This year he adds the role of senior leader.

"Just to get them going I guess, get them started and keep working them from there."

"Noah is a great kid, he does everything we ask him to do as a football player whether it's coaching youth kids, being a leader on our football team or carrying the ball 45 times on Friday night," said head coach Davin Thompson.

A total of 15 starting spots from last year's team returns. Carlson and the rest of the returners want to avenge a one-point playoff loss to Goodhue last year in the second round of the playoffs and make a run at state this season.

"The three other years I've been on varsity has been a really great experience for me and happy to have one more year to have a go at it."
