Some young students got a taste of life after high school Friday. It was the annual Kids College at UW-La Crosse.
More than 200 area 5th and 6th graders experienced a number of hands-on activities giving them a look at several different future careers.
That included a look into broadcast journalism with News 8's Jennifer Livingston. "I learned about all the different equipment and everything the anchor has to think about," said Lily Adams from Cashton Elementary.
Caleb Lenning from Miller Elementary in Tomah said, "it's exciting actually being here and being able to do all this fun stuff."
"All my sisters have been here before, so I'm happy I get to be here too," said Caroline Blaha from Sparta's Meadowview Elementary.
The students chose three of 14 classes offered, including rock climbing and improv.
They were selected through gifted and talented teachers at their schools.
