Todd Goldsmith will be the new President of Aquinas Catholic Schools effective July 1, Fr. Robert Schaller announced in a statement Friday.
Goldsmith is a La Crosse native and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Viterbo University. In 2010, he was awarded the university's Outstanding Alumni Award for Professional Development.
"The La Crosse area is a great place to raise a family and I am excited to move my family back to my roots," Goldsmith said in a statement. "I look forward to using my experience to build on the positive momentum that Aquinas Catholic Schools has established."
Goldsmith returns to La Crosse from Oklahoma, where he served as Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Tulsa for ten years. In Tulsa, he oversaw 12 schools with a combined enrollment of 4,500 students.
For the past eight years, he has been Oklahoma's representative to the Council for American Private Education (CAPE) in Washington, D.C. He has also previously served as president of the Oklahoma Private School Accreditation Commission, as well as president of the Oklahoma Conference of Catholic Schools Accrediting Association.
Outgoing Aquinas Catholic Schools President Kurt Nelson worked with Goldsmith in Tulsa, and showed his support for the hire.
"I had the pleasure of working closely with Todd for 12 years in the Diocese of Tulsa. He is a person of tremendous integrity and ability. I know our school system will be in great hands," Nelson said in a statement.
Goldsmith and his wife have three sons.
