About 400 students from Spence Elementary School visited the Compassion Project exhibition at the Pump House Regional Arts Center in La Crosse on May 29.
About 6,000 unique canvasses depicting compassion are hung on the walls created by just about every student in the La Crosse School District.
For many of them, this school trip was the first chance they had to see the whole exhibit.
"It's amazing how there's a million panels, but most of them are all compassion," said forth grader Halie Pataska.
"I think it's really nice because I think it's like a puzzle, one piece is okay by itself, but all together, it makes a whole puzzle and makes something beautiful,” said fourth grader Megan Konkel.
The display is up at the Pump House through June 28.
