iPads given out at local middle school
La Crosse Middle Schoolers have a new piece of technology in their hands.
This year each of those students will have their own iPad to use for schoolwork.
The tablets have been set-up with more than 200 apps - everything students could need for their core and special classes.
Teachers say it's a tool with a lot of potential since the kids will have access to everything they use in the classroom whereever they go.
"We're trying to bridge that digitial divide for kids and give all students the opportunity to learn with a tool that can meet their needs," said Lincoln Middle School Principal Melissa Murray.
Much of the student's homework will incorporate the iPad. They're also expected to charge the device every night.
