News 8 is getting its first look inside the construction of La Crosse's Northside Elementary School.
Crews have been working on the $14.5 million building since September.
On average, there are at least 50 people working every day spread across all trades.
They're putting up sheet rock, installing the heat pumps and duct work, and still building a few of the outside walls. "We're seeing the rooms take shape, we're seeing the hallways shape up, we're seeing the kitchen take place, and actually we're standing in the gym, so we're really starting to see some really good progress," said Energy Manager Kermit King.
King also says even with the inconvenient winter, they're right on schedule for the doors to open this fall.
