LA CROSSE, Wis. -

It was a beautiful day Thursday to sit outside and enjoy a story.

That's exactly what hundreds of young students from all over our area did at Myrick Park. It was Kids Day for Storytelling.

Organizers say not only is storytelling entertaining for everyone who listens, but it can really bring a book to life. "People thing story telling is just taking a book and reading a book with kids, but actually it's all about using your voice and having kids use their imagination to see stories for themselves," said storyteller Marge Loch-Wouters.

La Crosse's storytelling festival is the first weekend in September.
