It was a battle of the bots at Western Technical College Friday.
Students from several area schools took part in the Robotics Challenge. It featured a number of challenges including a maze, programming a specific navigation course, and driving in a square.
Teachers say it's a great way to have the students apply math and science. "We're just doing it through a fun, interactive activity, which is programming a robot, they learn about electronics, they learned about controls, they learn how to program, it's all in one little package," said Melrose-Mindoro technology teacher Jim Briggs.
Logan and G-E-T took home first place honors at the competition.
