A continued relationship between schools helps students get the extra attention they need.
Throughout the semester, about 20 students from UW-La Crosse have spent their Tuesday afternoons tutoring in Sparta. It's the third year of the partnership.
Students work in small groups, focusing on math and reading skills. They have some fun together too.
A tutor we talked to says he's also benefiting from the experience. "It's just bringing up old childhood memories and I just love working with kids because they have a lot of positive energy and so every night when I leave I always feel like my day got better because I've been working with the kids," said UW-L student Jason Yang.
Tuesday was the last time this semester for the program.
