Hundreds of kids in the hospital now have new toys to play with thanks to the work of a few local students.
We first introduced you to these three Holmen students in December when they graced the cover of a local magazine for this project.
Sacia Gilbertson, Brynn Daines, and Devin Reeves created a website to collect donations for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
They delivered everything Wednesday, including toys for kids in pediatric units and other needs for hospitals.
The CMN program manager at Gundersen Lutheran is not only impressed with the girls getting everything on the wishlist, but with the positive attitude they brought to their project. "From the start, they were gungho and they never stopped, and I think we can learn about that as adults, we can learn from these kids and just to see that, I think it's great to have them involved," said Heather Gilles.
The girls have been looking forward to this day since they started a year ago, and say seeing the delivery is like a dream. "Even the vision that I had wasn't nearly this much, it's way more than I expected to ever get," said Gilbertson.
"I just keep thinking about how much this is going to help all those kids, and how much they're going to love it," said Reeves.
"I think they're going to be even more excited than we are, which is saying a lot," said Daines.
The girls want to express a huge thanks to everyone who donated and helped make Wednesday's huge donation possible. If you'd still like to donate, you can check out the website evkidzkare.weebly.com.
