A published author is sharing a wealth of knowledge with local middle schoolers.
For the third year, author William Durbin is spending time with sixth graders in La Crosse.
While he's visiting, he'll work with the students in workshops and give presentations about his book, "The Broken Blade." All of the students read it before he came.
The hope is to inspire the kids to write more, especially if they are aspiring authors. "Anyone can be a writer if they dedicate themselves to the craft, it's just a matter of working, it's like anything the more you do the better you get at it, the better you get at it, the more fun it is, the more rewarding," said Durbin.
Durbin's visit was funded through a grant from the La Crosse Public Education Foundation.
