Some Onalaska students are being recognized for saying no to drugs and alcohol.
A group of fifth graders graduated from the D.A.R.E. program Wednesday afternoon.
They've been discussing topics like drugs, alcohol, and healthy decision making. And new to the curriculum this year was bullying.
The D.A.R.E. officer says it was nice to be able to talk about bullying and hear how it was affecting each of the students.
"It was eye opening to hear about bullying from their lives, from what it's like to be a 5th grader. The curriculum obviously taught them about the importance of not being a bystander and the importance of standing up to a bully," said Onalaska D.A.R.E. Officer Leah Myers.
Thirteen students graduated from the program Wednesday.
