Onalaska Marching Band scores big at Florida competition
While the Badgers played their bowl game out in Pasadena on New Year's Day, a local marching band took its talents to Florida.
The Onalaska Hilltoppers Marching Band returned Wednesday evening with a police escort from a competition at the Outback Bowl.
They won eight trophies and two plaques while competing against 17 bands from across the nation.
In fact, they placed in every event they competed in. "They looked so good out there and I was just so proud, my eyes welled up and it was just a great moment," said Drum Major Emilee Bergman. "This was definitely the icing on the cake, and it was an amazing way to end the season, so I wouldn't have ended it anyway else or with any other band," said Drum Major Riley Mason.
The band has been practicing since last June and actually debuted their show at a Packers game.
