The harvest season is wrapping up for one local garden and organizers are planning for the future.
The Dahl Family YMCA's Food Forest is shutting down for the winter.
Through the summer months, the 8,000 square foot garden provided fresh produce to residents while teaching the community about gardening.
And organizers say the garden is already set up for future expansions.
"Something like this has constant design and planning going on. There's areas where we can add some plants, areas where we can change a few things around, but we just want to get the community here, get the community involved as much as possible. That's really the most important thing," says owner of Coulee Region Ecoscapes Jarad Barkeim.
The garden will still be maintained and watered until it is ready for next year's growth season.
