JOHNSTON, Iowa (AP) -

The Iowa National Guard says a WWII-era tank is being installed at its military museum in Johnston.

The M4 "Sherman" tank will be installed Wednesday in front of the Iowa Gold Star Military Museum at Camp Dodge.

The vehicle had been located at the camp's tank park since 1958. It was replaced in 2012 with a newer tank and has been undergoing refurbishment in the meantime.

Iowa soldiers used this particular tank, manufactured late in WWII, for training between 1947 and 1957. Officials say it probably did not see combat.
