LA CROSSE COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) -

Wisconsin is lagging behind in a new health report, but still doing okay overall.

The annual "America's Health Rankings" placed Wisconsin 20th, a dramatic drop from last year's rank of 13th.

The national study found major increases in the amount of binge drinking and obese adults. There is also a need for people to exercise more.

On the bright side, there is a strong increase in the number of young children getting vaccinated. La Crosse County placed in the top quartile of Wisconsin counties.

The director of the La Crosse County Health Department says the new numbers don't show that Wisconsin is getting less healthy, rather other states are getting healthier, faster. "All of us, all across the country are increasingly getting healthier; we're living longer, we think that the quality of life that we have is better, so we're doing some things right, we just could and should be doing a bit more right," says Mormann.

Minnesotans can be proud. The gopher state ranked third in the nation.
