A Wisconsin family will be featured on the 'ellen'
to talk about a life saving gift that came as a surprise.
STORY ON 'ELLEN' TODAY
four- year- old Lyla from Madison has kidney failure.
and needs a transplant to survive.
Her mother, Dena deena.
says people from all over the country were tested
to see if they were matches to Lyla.
But nobody was.
While all that testing was happening.
a teacher from Lyla's school was moved to also get
and it turns out.
Beth Battista *was* a match.
and just by chance.
Lyla was placed in Beth's pre-school classroom.
That's when teachers brought in Lyla's mom to surprise
her with a present containing the good news.
Dena: I opened the present and that's when I saw the
Ellen: The note said what?
I may just be her teacher now, but soon a little piece
of me will be with Lyla forever.
I'm Lyla's kidney donor.
Ellen: I mean, c'mon!
The transplant surgery is expected to happen soon.

Lyla wasn't able to go on-set with her mom and teacher.
but she was backstage.
Ellen surprised her with a lot of Disney gear.
Ellen also had a surprise for Lyla's donor, Beth.
