A delegation back from La Crosse's newest sister city shares their experience.
Western Technical College President Lee Rasch joined a group of Franciscan Sisters on a recent trip to Kumbo in Cameroon, Africa. It's La Crosse's seventh sister city.
The group presented La Crosse's mayor Tuesday with a cultural mask and an official sister city proclamation from Kumbo.
Mayor Tim Kabat says these relationships are invaluable to the community. "The exchanges, especially when it comes to education, healthcare, and looking at those opportunities, because again we live on a very small planet and building those relationships is very important," said Mayor Kabat.
The mayor says the Franciscan Sisters have a long standing relationship with the city, having helped build a cardiac center there over the last 10 years.
