MADISON, Wis. -

A 23-year-old Westby man was charged with four counts of using a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of transmitting a live visual depiction of the conduct.

The indictment alleges Michael Eales did so on March 30, April 13, April 24 and May 2, 2013. The charges against him are due to an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security and Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation.

If Eales is convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum sentence of 30 years in federal prison on each account.
