LA CROSSE CO., Wis. (WKBT) -

All the rain we've been getting is slowing down a big road constriction project in La Crosse County.

The project manager says work on Highway 33 is about a week or two behind schedule.

Crews have been working on the road for about a month now, removing the old pavement and installing a storm sewer.

They're optimistic the delay won't push back the overall timeline. "With the weather, the way it looks next week, and they're bringing a another crew in, they should be able to catch up, hopefully in the next few weeks," said Project Manager Brian Meyer.

Crews also plan to use temporary fill on the potholes on lanes that are open to local traffic.

The whole project should be finished November 15th.
