Organizers of the Northern Wisconsin State Fair say great weather and some new activities helped boost attendance at this year's event.

The 117th annual five-day fair ended Sunday. And fair spokesman Rusty Volk says more than 75,000 people attended — the most visitors since ownership of the fair changed in 2007.

Volk said cooler weather probably helped draw more people. He says 2,000 volunteers helped organize and run the fair.

The Wisconsin State Fair in the Milwaukee suburb of West Allis will be held July 31-August 10.
