Volunteers are needed to help clean up the Mississippi River in Alma, Buffalo City and Winona on Saturday, September 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge – Winona District is teaming up with Friends of the Refuge Headwaters, and Mississippi River Revival for the event.
It’s all a part of “The Great Mississippi River Cleanup.” Last year, 2,459 volunteers from 23 states removed 127,230 pounds of debris from the Mississippi River between St. Paul, Minnesota, and St. Louis, Missiouri, as part of the event.

There is also a cleanup scheduled in Prairie du Chien on September 7.
