A western Wisconsin historical site is set re-enact an early 19th-century battle this summer.
Villa Louis, a historical mansion in Prairie du Chien, is planning to re-create the War of 1812's Battle of Prairie du Chien. The battle took place on July 17, 1814, when U.S. and British-Canadian soldiers clashed on what is now the mansion's west lawn.
The event will feature two narrated re-enactments, one on the evening of July 13 and the other on the afternoon of July 14, as well as a living history camp.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children between the ages of five and 17 and $8.50 for students and senior citizens.
