Colleges continue to get with the technological times.
The Admissions Office at UW-La Crosse is reaching out to future students on social media like Facebook and Twitter. It's another tool on top of their print mailers and website.
The director of admissions says nothing beats an on-campus visit, but they need to have many pieces when it comes to recruitment. "The Internet plays a huge part and now social media is coming into that picture too, whether it's Facebook or Twitter or any of the other new mechanisms that are out there," said Corey Sjoquist.
The university is taking a close look at LinkedIn because they say more high schoolers are signing up for that site.
