LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -

A community revitalization program is giving La Crosse neighborhoods a much needed make-over.

Since the beginning of the month, the ReNew La Crosse Neighborhoods program has completed 40 projects on 26 different properties.

Volunteers do everything from simple repairs to painting to landscaping and some even yard work.

The program has been working in both the Powell-Poage-Hamilton and Washburn neighborhoods. Organizers say volunteers are doing more than just a little spring cleaning.

"It really started off as an effort to in the Powell-Poage Hamilton and the Washburn Neighborhoods to again spruce things up help out your neighbors and get involved in your community and that's what this is really all about,” said Adam Hatfield, ReNEW La Crosse Neighborhood representative.

If you want to help there is an opportunity Saturday, May 31 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. There will also be another chance to help on Saturday, June 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
