LA CROSSE, WI -

The early rain showers didn't dampen the spirits of people participating in the 19th annual Tri-Quest Charity Triathlon Sunday, 15 in Holmen.

Participants  had the chance to bike, golf, or run to help raise money for area non-profits. The money raised from the event will go to the Family and Children's Center in La Crosse. The center serves 10 counties throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The organization not only helps families build stronger relationships, but helps build healthier relationships within the community as well.

"The Family and Children's Center, fills a vital need in our community, and they provide so many resources. It's honestly astonishing when you actually look at the range and the scope of resources they provide for people in our community. So they are one of our greater organizations," said David Krump, Executive Director of Tri-Quest Charities.

The rain didn't affect the attendance. Members from the Family and Children's Center say the turnout is just another example of  community support  in the Coulee Region.

"It's great, I mean I think it shows the commitment to not only the family and children center but I think the Tri-Quest event. I think this is the 19th year for Tri-Quest and it's an amazing event, and raised a lot of dollars for area non profits over the years and family and children center being one of those.", said Mike Boehm, President of the Family and Children's Center.

Organizers said they hope to raise $50,000 from the event.
