LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -

The Town of Campbell Police Chief accused of harassing a local tea party activist reaches a plea agreement.

Police Chief Tim Kelemen plead no contest in La Crosse County Friday to one count of unlawful use of a computerized communication system. In turn, Kelemen will enter a two year diversion program.

As part of the agreement, he must complete 40 hours of community service and undergo counseling for depression. Once Kelemen completes the program, the charge will then be dismissed.

Kelemen was accused of signing up local activist Greg Luce for multiple online websites and newsletters, including insurance, dating, and adult sites.

The chief said it was in response to abusive phone calls and emails.
