TOMAH, Wis. -

A nearly nine million dollar remodeling project is complete at a local veteran's hospital.

Officials at the Tomah VA cut the ribbon Monday on the new community living centers. That includes 40 private, personalized rooms complete with bathrooms, TV's, and at least one window. There are also shared living and dining spaces.

The medical center's director says they wanted to make the facility feel less like a care center and more like home. "We want to make sure that they get the care that they truly deserve, and it should really be like home, to make them feel like they are home," said Mario DeSanctis.

The vets will start moving in this week.
