A new addition to Riverfest this year will test teamwork on the water.

Nearly three dozen people took turns hitting the water near Winona in a dragon boat Tuesday evening. They're practicing for a new race Mayo Clinic Health System is sponsoring at the annual event.

Teams of community members, breast cancer survivors and area businesses will race on Saturday, July 6th.

And it's not just a new race for pride, it's also a way to support the fight against breast cancer. "I just think it's a great thing for breast cancer survivors, I'm thrilled to be in one of the breast cancer survivor boats and honoring all the women that have gone through it," said breast cancer survivor Beth Nelson.

Tuesday night's practice was made possible by Winona Canoe allowing the use of its dragon boat.
