A softball game in our area pitted two teams against each other looking to do more than just win.
A team of Onalaska community leaders played against a team of Fort McCoy soldiers in Chicago-Style Softball, which uses a bigger ball than regular softball games.
The game was put together to benefit Operation Homefront. People from the community came to watch the event and support the cause.
Live bands as well as stand up comedy acts were also featured. It's something that means a lot more than just donations. "It means a lot to have the community come out and support our troops and their families in this way," said Patti Lokken from Operation Homefront, "we have a beautiful day today, we have a great, fun game, this is Americana at it's best.
Although the event was free, food and beverage sales will be donated to the Armed Forces.
