Sheri Lynch, one of the hosts of the national “Bob & Sheri” radio show spent Monday in the La Crosse area.
The visit is part of Bob & Sheri’s #RVcrazy Tour across the United States.
Sheri broadcast live from the Magic 105 studio in Onalaska Monday morning. Then she and her crew went to Riverside Park to meet fans and go on the La Crosse Queen. From 1:30 – 2 p.m. the crew stopped by the Walmart on Mormon Coulee Road in La Crosse to reload the RV. Fans could stop by for a short meet-and-greet.
“It's really humbling because when you do radio, you're in a studio, you're talking to a microphone or to each other and you don't really have that opportunity to have that face-to-face interaction with the people who listen,” Sheri told News 8. “So you have people come out to the campgrounds where we're staying, to events and even to gas stations. We've been kind of awestruck.”
The crew started their travels in Knoxville, Tennessee. La Crosse is the first broadcast stop on the tour. Sheri has family in Wisconsin, so visiting the state is a special experience for her.
“It's a treat to be able to come here and bring our show here and all of our crew traveling with us. Most of them have never been to this part of the world before, so I feel like I'm showing off – ‘Look at this place, it's amazing!’ And cheese curds. That was a brand new food for a lot of them last night.”
Sheri and her crew were excited to visit the bluffs and stop by some big landmarks.
“We're going to world's largest six pack. We have been looking forward to that for about two months. And we're also going to have our picture taken at the big giant fish that says, ‘Welcome to Onalaska.’ And I hear there's a giant grocery bag. Are you detecting a theme? We're like really into big giant versions of things,” Sheri said with a laugh.
After their stop in La Crosse, Sheri and the radio crew will drive to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Sheri’s co-host Bob Lacey will join the crew in Grand Junction, Colorado “where he’ll be sleeping in an air conditioned hotel room. And he’s so selfish. He won’t let us take showers in his room. Can you believe that? There are only 16 of us. We’ll bring our own towels,” Sheri said with a laugh.
