BUFFALO COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) -

A semi-tractor trailer hauling a load of frac sand from a local mine in the Town of Buffalo rolled over on County Road P Monday, according to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver told authorities she was negotiating a curve when she heard a loud bang, which resulted in the unit over turning and coming to a rest on the roadway.

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office said the driver refused medical transport from the scene, but was later taken by a private vehicle to a local hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Wisconsin State Patrol Heavy Truck Enforcement was called to the scene for inspection. During inspection of the semi, a broken front leaf spring on the driver’s front tire was found. Investigators believe that was a contributing factor in the crash. The semi is owned by W Barth Transit LLC of Buffalo City and is a total loss.

The Fountain City First Responders, Fountain City Fire Department, and the Winona Ambulance Service assisted the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
