Scott Joseph Menswear in downtown La Crosse to close
After more than eight years in business in downtown La Crosse, Scott Joseph Menswear is closing.
Owner Scott Koenen made the announcement on Friday morning, stating that the demand for the brands of casual wear featured at his store has been down in recent years.
"It went downhill during the recession and just never caught back up," Koenen said in a statement.
In April 2005, after 21 years working for J.C. Penny, Koenen set out on his own and launched Scott Joseph Menswear on Main Street.
"Our motto has always been 'You get one chance to make a first impression' and I'm proud to say that we have helped many men in the Coulee region make a great first impression over the years," Koenen said in a statement. "That's the part I'm going to miss the most -- the customers. It's always been interesting to hear about their professions and what's going on in their lives."
The store’s inventory sale will be open to the public starting Thursday, October 10. Scott Joesph Menswear, located at 506 Main Street, will be open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 12- 4 p.m. Sunday.
