The professionals making sure Wisconsin students have a healthy meal at school were in La Crosse Monday.

About 300 school nutritionists gathered at the La Crosse Center for an annual conference.

Along with breakout sessions, speakers, and some food sampling, the attendees talked about upcoming challenges stemming from changes to child nutrition programs.

"We all have different challenges because of sizes of districts and therefore we are going to always address them and this conference brings these things together for us," said Food Nutrition Director Cheryl Pile from Elmer Public Schools.

This conference is one of three held throughout the year.
