The Salvation Army hopes its second Red Kettle Match Day will be a big boost.
Every dollar dropped into one of those kettles Saturday, up to $18,000, will be matched by local individuals and businesses. Right now, the Salvation Army is only halfway to its fundraising goal.
They say filling up their bell ringing time slots makes a huge difference. As of Friday afternoon, there were still 19 slots open. "Cause without any bell ringers there, we get zero at those kettles, so if 19 people can step forward, it will make a big impact," said Julie Nelson from the Salvation Army.
