Area business leaders and city officials were discussing the future of La Crosse.
Wednesday Mayor Tim Kabat held the first roundtable meeting of the year at the La Crosse Center. The goal is to create an open discussion between the city and area businesses about challenges and opportunities in La Crosse.
At Wednesday's meeting they talked about possible changes to city policies. One of the biggest potential change deals with an in-depth audit of La Crosse's tif districts.
“There are several of the districts that are getting very close to the end of their life so there are going to be some policy discussions about either closing those tifs or using the positive increment to do projects or pay off other debt,” said La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat.
The city hopes to hold the roundtable meetings about two or three times a year.
