The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium is seeking donations after a small fire caused damage around its tortoise exhibit.
No humans or animals were harmed, but the William Woodward Discovery Center at the museum will remain closed. The nonprofit museum is reducing its admission fees by 50 percent until the center reopens.
The fire was reported shortly before 2:30 a.m. Saturday. A fire sprinkler system extinguished the fire, but the extent of the smoke and water damage was still being evaluated. Investigators are still determining what caused the fire.
Donations can be sent to the museum's fire recovery fund at 350 East Third Street in Dubuque.
