After a late vote to end the shutdown Wednesday, Congressman Ron Kind flew back to La Crosse to talk with federal workers heading back to work.
The Congressman says the shutdown was not our finest hour and this is no time for a victory lap. He says it's time for lawmakers to make a serious effort for a long-term spending plan.
Rep. Kind talked about how to break the cycle of legislating from crisis to crisis, and who he feels is most responsible. He also said voters play an important role in keeping these stalemates from happening.
We also asked the Congressman if lawmakers fear for their jobs in the next election, and what people should look for in the coming days.
