Warning for computer users who use Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer Hack

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) - A major flaw in a popular web browser is putting your personal information at risk.

Microsoft has found that a security gap in Internet Explorer could allow a hacker to take complete control of a computer.

Slow downs, pop-ups, and suspicious behaviors are some of the signs to watch out for.

Experts say that home users or small business owners with Internet Explorer are the most vulnerable and should consider switching browsers.

"The great alternative browsers are Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. We highly recommend using those instead of Internet Explorer. They're  much faster. Google Chrome is quite a bit faster, I prefer Firefox. And if someone is using Internet Explorer, now would be a great reason to switch to a different and I believe, better browser," said the owner of Orange Computer in La Crosse, Matthew Metzger.

Microsoft has fixed a few of the minor issues with Internet Explorer, but is still working on a fix for the major security glitch.
