Packers set to break ground on Lambeau expansion

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers are getting ready to break ground on a project that will add 6,600 seats at Lambeau Field in time for the 2013 season.

The team will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday at 11 a.m. Packers executives Mark Murphy and Jason Wied are among the officials who will attend.

The project will also include building a new rooftop viewing terrace that club-seat holders can use on game days. There will also be new gates, elevators and access points for people with disabilities

The Packers said last week that they -- not taxpayers -- will cover the $130 million cost. The team says it's considering raising money by having another stock sale. That would give even more people a chance to be part-owner of the storied franchise.
