Onalaska waterfront project moving forward again

ONALASKA, Wis. - Onalaska's waterfront redevelopment project is once again moving forward. That's according to members of the project's management team.

The project, which includes a new tourism center and a number of improvements to the natural settings along the river, had its committees re-structured by the city's common council earlier this month.

A council member serving on the committee says the project is now at a critical point and it's time to pull everything together. "We've kind of been sitting still for a few months with the plans being approved through different committees and the national scenic byways, so now we're at a point that it's all behind us and we can move forward," said council member Erik Sjolander.

The land use and development director is figuring out a new timetable which will be presented to the full council soon.
