Onalaska store gives free haircuts for veterans

ONALASKA, WI (WKBT) - SportClips in Onalaska gave away free haircuts to local veterans Monday.

It's part of their "Help a Hero" fundraising campaign that has been running for the past month.

Along with giving away free haircuts, they are also donating money to the VFW scholarship program.

Part of the money raised in the campaign will go towards calling cards for deployed service members.

Onalaska SportClips owner says there is a good reason to help our veterans. "Because of what they've done for our country, it's the greatest country in the world and they keep us, keep our freedom in tact and we need to say thank you for all the things they have done," said Cody Wehling.

Nationwide, Sportclips was hoping to raise $575,000 for their "Help a Hero" campaign.
