MnDOT asks for input for statewide bike system plan

Public can give feedback online through June 1

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WKBT) - The public is invited to provide input for a statewide bicycle system plan through an online interactive map and survey through June 1.

The information will help the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) identify where improvements can be made on existing facilities in the bike system and whether more connections should be made.

"It is important for us to learn about routes or barriers we may not be aware of and whether there is interest in bicycle connections that don't exist yet," MnDOT's bike planner Greta Alquist said in a statement.

There were nine statewide workshops held in April and May to gather information about bicycling issues and facility preferences from the public, local government officials and transportation supporters.
