A program that helps families with children who have special medical needs got a big financial boost Tuesday.
The annual Soup-A-Thon brought in more than $18,000 for the Children's Miracle Network.
Guests are invited to the event to taste a variety of soups from 20 different local restaurants. Businesses like LHI, Kaplan, and SAP match employee donations.
The proceeds from the event were presented Tuesday to CMN. "100% of that money will go to work here locally and help local families and children, so $18,000 will be able to help many families that need different services," said CMN Program Director Heather Gilles.
The money can be used for things like food vouchers and transportation.
