JUNEAU, Wis. (AP) — -

A pilot is OK after his single-engine airplane veered off the runway of an airport in southeastern Wisconsin.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office says the privately owned, two-seat airplane had just landed at the Dodge County Airport before 5 p.m. Saturday when it went off the runway.

The plane had landed for fuel while flying from Alabama to Manitowoc. The plane came to rest in the grass next to the runway and taxiway.

The pilot was alone in the plane. He was checked out by medical personnel at the scene and was not treated or taken to a hospital.

Authorities say the man, whose name was not released, had bought the Luscombe 8E from its previous owner on Friday.

The Federal Aviation Administration has been contacted. The airport remained open.
