Principal shames girls over shorts
Chicago-area principal apologizes for comments about short shorts
Outraged parents in Chicago spoke out against a high school principal Monday night for shaming several girls over their short shorts.
During an end-of-year awards ceremony at Stephen Decatur Classical Elementary School, Principal Susan Kukielka singled out seven girls for their attire, the parents told WGN.
"These are not girls of distinction because their shorts are too short," the Sun-Times reported Kukielka said.
Their parents claim the girls were humiliated.
Kukielka later sent letters of apology to the students.
The school does not have an official dress code, but school officials said announcements were made about proper school attire.
